Yogie quickly became one of Jamaica’s hottest up and coming artistes, receiving international recognition with the hit single ‘I go Crazy’, he later released, ‘Brighter Days, and ‘Here Again’.
Building on the success and attention, he got for his debut album and his resolution to further career; Courtney turned his sites and talent writing and producing. He has produced several reggae remixes for Nelly Furtado’s singles, most notably ‘Say It Right’ and produced the Reggae-dancehall remix of ‘Promiscuous’ By Nelly and Timberland, this spent more than four weeks at the top of Billboard Hot 100 chart. Courtney John is also an extraordinary songwriter, having penned hits for Marcia Griffiths (Shining Time) and Beres Hammond (Cant Stop a Man).
Over the years, Courtney ‘Yogie’ has grown significantly as a recording artiste and music industry professional. In 2004, he was featured in the New York Times Magazine, as one of Reggae music artiste to watch.
