T.O.K NAMED THE GREATEST REGGAE/DANCEHALL BAND.
Popularly known group T.O.K as been named the Greatest Reggae/Dancehall band by the New York Times Magazine. The group got its start through the annually held Tastee Talent Contest, it was while competing in that contest that the quartet of Xavier “Flexx”, Davidson, Craig “Craig T” Thompson, Alistaire “Alex” McCalla and Roshaun “Bay C” Clarke caught the eye of Nuff Records. Stephen Craig in 1996, they recorded a few tracks for Nuff Records, but it was the framed Sly and Robbie that released T.O.K first hit titled “Them High: on the Taxi label.
The group went on to Danny Browne’s label/studio, where they teamed up with Richard Sham Brown son of well-known guitarist Glenn Brown, Sham was in process of launching his own label. The first track T.O.K recorded for Browne was “Send them Come”, the it was the collaboration with the Lady Saw titled “Hardcore Lover” propelled them into the limelight and led to them being signed to VP Records. T.O.K first album with VP Records was entitled “My Crew My Dog”
