JESSICA YAPP
Jessica Yapp a Campion College student and a player on the school’s tennis team started playing the violin at age 3, she became the youngest person in the Caribbean to capture a distinction in the examination of the Royal School of Music located in London,
At the age of 13 Jessica Yapp was awarded a scholarship to attend the University of India for the summer of 2006, where she was tutored by renowned Teachers Mimi Zweig and Carol Cole. Jessica is the three time recipient of the Most Outstanding Performer in the biennially held Music Teachers Festival.
A native of Jamaica, she as been regarded as one of the leading musicians in Jamaica. Though, Jessica is classically trained, she has opened up her up arms to all genres of music, including, reggae, jazz and blues and R&B. She has performed on Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues, Miss Jamaica Pageant and also performed with the New England Orchestra.
Jessica’s most recent performance was at the launching of the National Skills Competition, she did a wonderful and well renditions of “I will Survive” and Bob Marley’s “Jammin”. She often been called the gem of Jamaica.
