Byron Lee the, ambassador for Caribbean music, releases his new compilation Soca Royal on VP Records, July 29, 2008. His versions of popular hits became the standard for Caribbean remakes. A master musician and arranger, Mr. Lee has a knack for picking just the right song to cover in soca or reggae style. Soca Royal is the first studio album from Byron Lee in three years. He was busy touring, recording hit singles and celebrating his 50th anniversary in the business (see Essential Byron Lee from VP Records). The new album features the massive hit “She’s Royal (Soca Remix), Bunji Garlin’s “Bring It” remix, a version of the Da’Ville hit “Always On My Mind”, classic covers including “They Gonna Talk” by Beres Hammond, medleys of Morgan Heritage, Sanchez & Tony Rebel hits and new versions of Happy Birthday and The Wedding March.
