Energy, hype, excitement and music were in abundant supply at the staging of the Pepsi TeenSplash held at the James Bond Beach in Oracabessa, St Mary.
With the likes of Beenie Man, Romaine Virgo, Busy Signal, Jodian Pantry, Lenya Wilkes, Capleton, Tarrus Riley and Pressure.
MCs Jerry D and Reggae Rogers were remarkable. They were there to get the audience ready for the big show.
With all the hot sound systems and selectors, the party was blazing. There were not any dull moments for the patrons in attendance.
The king of Dancehall Beenie Man was tremendous. He really had it going for him. The massive crowd went wild when the Doctor took the stage. He had them in frenzy, waving rags, lighters flaring, jumping up and down and following wherever he led. He had a lot to offer to his supporters. It was an amazing performance, but they seemed insatiable for what he had to offer and was twice the fun when he called Barbee on stage to do their combination “Give It Up”. Those two sure generated enough heat to warm up everyone from the cold sea breeze.
The “Million Dollar Kid” Romain Virgo performance was breathtaking. The young rising star connected with the crowd especially when he did the songs “X-Girlfriend”, “I’m Still In Love” and “Girl I’ve Got A Date; he kept the vibes flowing. The crowd went berserk when he drew the Marvin Gaye’s “Lets Get It On”.
Busy Signal represented well and treated his fans to some of his many songs including the very popular “Nah Go A Jail Again”. He was well received by the audience and when he left the stage, everyone was satisfied.
The crowd was not too pleased with Lenya Wilkes performance but the same cannot be said for Jodian Pantry who the patrons enjoyed her performance a lot.
Tarrus Riley gave a memorable performance, drawing screams from the female who turned out for the event. They really enjoyed songs such as “She’s Royal, “Beware” and “I Will Stay With You”.
Pepsi TeenSplash was wonderful everyone enjoyed themselves and knows that for 2009 it will be hotter.
