Robert Nesta Marley, famously known as Bob Marley was a Jamaican singer, songwriter, and musician. Considered one of the pioneers of reggae, his musical career was marked by fusing elements of reggae, ska, and rocksteady, as well as his distinctive vocal and songwriting style. Marley died in May 1981 at age 36 from cancer. Marley has been featured all over while he was alive and even after his death.
Recently, Ride Natty Ride, a 30 minute docu-film has featured Bob Marley’s influence on pastimes which is the latest in reggae King’s Legacy Web docu-series. Ride Natty Ride was premiered last Friday on Marley’s YouTube page and is also the name of a song on Bob Marley and the Wailer’s 1979 album Survival. It was released by Island Records in late 1979. Survival was Marley’s salute to Africa, which was a hotbed of anti-colonialism during the 1970s.
According to the Bob Marley Foundation, the unique YouTube series provides fans with a refreshing and cinematic journey through the life, legacy and relevance Bob Marley still holds in this present day. The Legacy Documentary series marks the Marley’s 75th birthday anniversary celebrations with the first episode being aired on February 28, 2020.
