Just days short of a month since the release of Shaggy’s “Christmas In The Island”, album. The reviews have been great. The fifteen track album provides a twist to several traditional Christmas song favourites, adding an “Island Vibe”.
The Grammy award-winning Shaggy, born Orville Burrell has been recently receiving much press both locally and internationally. Having recently concluded some interviews virtually in Jamaica and in person in New York, where Shaggy is currently doing promotions. His compilation in collaboration with Jamaican deejay Conkarah entitled “Banana”, was widely regarded as the song for the summer. Racking up some near 28 million views on YouTube.
“Christmas In The Island”, features a number of local acts in Reggae and Dancehall namely; Shensea, Sanchez, Richie Stephens and Romain Virgo just to name a few.
The fifteen tracks were produced by Richie D, Jerry Fuentes, Tony “CD” Kelly, Martin “ Cherry Cherry Boom Boom” Kierszenbaum and Shane Hoosong.
The album reflects the mood in the Caribbean during the festive season and seems to bring to life the varying ways in which the season is celebrated on the Island. The album not only has remarks but showcases several new singles.
