The Serengetti at Hope Zoo in St Andrew was where the stars aligned for the seventh staging of the popular live music series Cosmic Rotation, sponsored by Appleton Estate. The event featured the likes of Koro Fyah, Tamo J, Skygrass (the band), Riki, Earth and the Fullness led by Olivia Wilmot and Micah Shemaiah & the Dreadites, Kabaka Pyramid who joined Koro Fyah on stage during his set.Promoter Simon Bowden reflected on the night proceedings. “It was more of a roots show than the last event that we had earlier this year; a lot of artistes were in the audience and every performer was good. Many persons commented they didn’t know a lot of the acts, but it was a great introduction and they were surprised by the talent,” Bowden said in an interview.
The turnout was not as large as previous stagings, however it was ripe with entertainment, that ranged from slow sounds, dub to acoustic and roots Reggae. Patrons were seen mingling after all the acts had performed and grooving to the sound of Caveman International and DJ Fyahstartah. Damian and Julian Marley, Wayne Marshall, and Billy Mystic were some of the patrons seen enjoying the vibes at the event. July 28 is the date slated for the next Cosmic Rotation series.
