Dancehall artiste Tommy Lee Sparta was booed at two events on Sunday after making attempts to dis dancehall icon Bounty Killer. Tommy Lee was in the middle of his high-energy performance at Chug It in Portmore, when he decided to remix his single Mechanic as a homosexual dis aimed at Bounty Killer. However, the audience did not appreciate the gesture and they rewarded the artiste with a sea of boos.Following the boos at Chug It, Tommy Lee went to the Liguanea Club in New Kingston where he made a guest appearance at the annual Calico Jack Rum Punch party. The artiste again performed a decent set, but in similar fashion to his experience at Portmore, he was again booed when he attempted to dis Bounty Killer.

The wedge between prominent Dancehall divas, Lady Saw and Macka Diamond seems to be growing after comments that latter entertainer has made regarding the Queen of Dancehall’s decision to contemplate baptism.
Last month, Lady Saw surprised many fans and music industry players by signaling her intention to drop Dancehall music as she was going through a spiritual transformation hinting that she’d soon be recording gospel. Her announcement came after taking an extended sabbatical from Dancehall to re-focus her life after admitting her share of off-stage struggles.
Jamaican artist Mavado cleared to perform in Barbados (Caribbean360.com)
After being barred from entertaining Bajans two years ago, popular Jamaican dancehall artist Mavado has been cleared to enter Barbados and is slated to perform here next week.
The man behind the promotion, George “Jack” Farrell, told reporters at a Press briefing that he had been granted approval to bring the singer to perform here, notwithstanding the controversy that had surrounded a planned appearance in 2010.

Though he studies music at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, Alie Simiji Marrah says his love of rhythms transcends theory.
The Sierra Leone-born singer, who is in his early 30s, credits music with bringing him through the hardships he has experienced.
He says when his mother and most of his family thought he would never walk, it was his grandmother’s singing that got his feet moving and dancing.
After watching his sister being raped and his grandmother’s house set ablaze during Sierra Leone’s civil war, it was the power of music that calmed his rage.”I used to cry over these things but they have made me stronger,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
