Richie Spice Drops New Album ‘Soothing Sounds: Acoustic’ (Urban Islandz)
Reggae virtuoso and cultural sensation Richie Spice exhibits his unbridled talent and versatility with the release of his latest studio effort, Soothing Sounds: Acoustic, available worldwide on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from Tad’s Record. Touted as the Prince of Reggae, Spice (born Richell Bonner in St. Andrew, Jamaica), earns that crown with each selection on this 15-track album, which is testament to its title by presenting the soothing sounds of this acclaimed artist, acoustic and unplugged, for the first time.

Stage Shows Needed! (The Jamaica Gleaner)
At least one promoter shares the opinion that some up-and-coming reggae/dancehall artistes are unable to effectively perform live.
According to media personality, GT Taylor, promoter of GT Taylor’s Extravaganza, the decrease of local stage shows is a recipe for disaster, as it relates to the development of local talent.
The promoter, who has hosted his stage show in Black River, St Elizabeth, for more than ten years, says a reduction in stage shows leads to a reduction of on-stage experience for artistes.

Lutan Fyah starts youth-upliftment foundation (The Jamaica Star)
Incensed by the gang violence plaguing inner city communities and the rash of sexual violence against young women and minors in the society, Rastafarian firebrand Lutan Fyah has started a Youth Upliftment Foundation (YUF) which he hopes can socially re-engineer the negative attitudes and behaviours of young at-risk children.

Sizzla gives great show (The Jamaica Observer)
SIZZLA Kalonji reeled off a steady flow of hit songs to a jam-packed Usain Bolt’s Tracks & Records in St Andrew on Tuesday night.
The reggae artiste was the guest performer in the weekly Behind the Screens Series concert held at the venue.

The Toasters sign to Phoenix Records (United Reggae)
Phoenix City Records have announced that they have signed influential US ska band The Toasters to their roster and will be issuing two albums to help celebrate the bands 30th Anniversary.
The first album will be the re-release of their 1987 debut‘Pool Shark’ which is re-mastered and re-packaged together with their two EPs from that same year‘Recriminations’ and ‘East Side Beat’. The album will come with deluxe artwork, that includes the original hand drawn cover, dozens of vintage press clippings, detailed discography and never before seen photos.

Jubilee party: Konshens in town (New Vision Uganda)
It’s going down tomorrow Friday – the Live Golden Jubilee Celebration concert featuring Jamaican sensation Konshens, real name Garfield Spence and Jamaican Number One DJ, G Money.
Konshens and his crew, which of course includes DJ G Money, touched down at Entebbe International airport at 10.00pm.
