For many back home in Jamaica and Jamaican cross the world asking the question could Davina Bennett from Jamaica take home the title of Miss Universe? The Miss Universe Final Pageant was held in Los Vegas, in the United States on November 26, 2017. The 21 years old Davina Bennett who attends the University of the West Indies, also good in modeling who modeled for Pulse at London’s Fashion week.
Training for Miss Universe Pageant is a big thing, which requires a lot of hard work and dedication. In preparation for the pageant many persons worked along with Davina , making her more rounded going into the Miss Universe. Yendi Phillips former contestant of the Miss Universe Pageant, who came first runner- up in 2010, who shows her (Davina) the road code and what to expect at an international pageant and stage presentation. Paula- Ann Porter with speech and interview, Fabian Thomas sharpen her knowledge about the island Jamaica and its culture. All putting together to accomplish the ultimate goal, the title as Miss Universe 2017.
Davina’s look and personal sense of style, including her natural afro, have also been a point of interest, from reports Davina done well in the preliminary interviews and the judges compliment on her hair and style, however that was a thumbs -up for Jamaica and the hard working team behind Davina.
It all boils down to the three contestants Jamaica, South Africa and Columbia. Jamaica’s, Davina Bennett – 2nd runner-up, Columbia, Laura González Ospina-1st runner up and South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters was declared the winner . The hard working team from Jamaica who worked endlessly, work still was victorious even thou, Jamaica did not take home the title has Miss Universe, their hard work has been paid off, significantly in the Miss World Pageant 2017 Jamaica’s Solange Sinclair has finished in seventh place at the grand coronation which took place in Sanya, China, November 18. Ms. Sinclair was awarded Miss World Caribbean Queen of Beauty.
Jamaican woman has done tremendously well in representing their country Jamaican and their families, big thumbs up to both ladies.
