Damian “Hylita” Bent is an Jamaican Dancehall artiste who hails from the community of Toll Gate, Clarendon. In 2008 the artiste did his first recording titled Shake it which was produced by New Creations Records. In 2009 he entered the Magnum Kings and Queens competition, and made an impact although he exited in the early rounds of the competition.
Fast forward to April 2018 and the artiste has been rejuvenated by the positive feedback he has received for the two singles he has released, titled Glory and Neva Hold We Down, both produced by Thee Khemist on the Thee Khemist Records/Studio Vibes Records.
“I’m looking forward to the release of these two singles. I want the fans to hear my new sound, it’s more melodious and catchy. So far everyone who has heard these songs have given them the thumbs up,” he said.
Locally and internationally, both songs has been getting alot of steady airplay since been released.
The artiste is in preparation mode for the shooting of the music video for ‘Glory’, as the promotion continues, the artiste refused to rule out the possibility of doing a video for ‘Neva Hold We Down’ as well.
“I’m thrilled with the response that my songs are getting. Every time I touch the streets, people are telling me how much they love them. I feel good that my music is doing well, and I have to thank all the DJs who are supporting my career,” said Hylita.
Hylita is currently working on his EP which will be named Black Wall Street.
