In 1976 the first staging of The Vale Earth Fair was held by a group of volunteers who had given up their pastime to organize the festival. The charity event donates their profit to organisations which includes The Burma Campaign UK, Free Tibet and Bridge2Haiti. The festival promotes music and arts and the community events which take place aim to raise funds and awareness for humanitarian causes. The festival sell and provide vegetarian food only bought from local suppliers, they also recycle everything they possibly can. It is considered to be the Channel Islands’ longest running music festival.
Jamaican veteran Roots Reggae entertainer Horace Andy who is known for his many hits from the 1960s such as Skylarking, Ain’t No Sunshine, Just Say Who and Every Tongue Shall Tell to name a few is one of the headliners named for the upcoming staging of the Vale Earth Fair.
One of the organizers of the fair Mr Rob Roussel explained that they have wanted to display proper roots Reggae at the Vale Earth Fair for a while now, and Horace Andy certainly fits the bill so patrons can expect a fantastic night.
