The Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA) Honour Awards which is to mark the end of the activities for reggae month 2021 will be awarding Stephen “Cat” Coore. Coore is a founding member of the reggae band and several time Reggae Nominee Third World. The band was formed in 1973 and though it has seen its fair share of replacement musicians, Coore has remained an important part of the band.
Coore will be awarded on February 28, 2021 for his contribution to the genre as an instrumentalist. The well-regarded cellist/guitarist will be awarded among other artiste for long standing contribution to Reggae music. This follows a lifetime award presented to Coore for Third World’s contribution to reggae by Reggae Sumfest in July 2020.
