The Young, Gifted and Black Caribbean Music Entertainment ICON Hall of Fame in New York will be inducting Marcia Griffiths and Freddie McGregor of Big Ship into the Hall of Fame come February 24th. The YGB will be doing so during Black History Month as both Griffiths and McGregor ,who came about during the Rock Steady era and did wonderful in their crossovers into Reggae music.
For their tremendous contributions to reggae music and successes over the years McGregor and Griffiths along with Beres Hammond will be inducted in 2021. Soca sensation Machel Montano will also be awarded for his contribution to soca music in Twin Island Republic.
Several other entertainers from Jamaica have been inducted in the YGB Hall of Fame since it started 16 years ago. some of the include Richie Stephens, Bounty Killer, and Tanya Stephens among others.
The ICON Hall of Fame seeks to commemorate the works of trailblazers in their respective fields, contributing to their cultures positively and leaving their mark.
