WHO:                          Jamaica Association of Vintage Artistes & Affiliates (JAVAA) invites the coverage of

 

WHAT:                         UNVEILING Ceremony”

 

WHEN:                        Saturday, July 11, 2009, 10:00a.m.

 

WHERE:                       Half Way Tree Transportation Centre, Constant Spring Road, Kingston 10

 

BACKGROUND:        The final event of JAVAA’s week of its 6th Anniversary celebrations will be Unveiling of Photographs & Citations for the first twelve (12) Inductees (2008) to JAVVA’s “Jamaica Music Hall of Fame”.  

 

                                    They are: Norman Thomas (aka) Lord Flea;  Joseph Vere Johns (aka) Vere Johns; Oswald Williams (aka) Count Ossie; Alpha Boys’ School; The Wailers (Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Beverly Kelso, Cherry Green, Junior Brathwaite); Louise Bennett-Coverly (aka) Miss Lou; Olive Lewin (aka) Mother of Music; Clement Dodd (aka) Sir Coxsone; The Skatalites (Tommy McCook, Rolando Alphonso, Johnny Moore, Lester Sterling, Don Drummond, Lloyd Knibb, Lloyd Brevett, Jerry Hines, Jackie Mittoo); Arthur Reid (aka) Duke Reid; Ernest Ranglin (aka) Ernie Ranglin; and Derrick Morgan.

 

The function will be presided over by Hon. Mike Henry, Minister of Transport & Works.

 

                                    A public event, entertainment will be included.
