Meet Aspiring young Reggae artiste Koffee

Mikayla  Simpson better known as “Koffee” is a seventeen year old product of the the Spanish Town Community. Koffee is a past student of the Ardenne High School, where she wanted to further her education at the school’s sixth form but unfortunately did not make their list of acceptances. Mikayla still maintained hope despite her set backs, and chose music which has worked well for her so far.

Koffee emerged onto the musical scene in August 2017 when she did a tribute to Jamaica’s sprint superstar Usain Bolt titled “Legend” which she posted on Instagram, and the sprinter re-posted the video which escalated to “Viral” status after receiving over 14,000 views since.

Koffee was then elated when she was given the chance to perform at Rebel Salute 2018 when she was introduced on stage by veteran Reggae artiste Cocoa Tea.

The youngster is  now signed to Upsetta Records and taken under the wings of Caniggia Palmer who plays the role of her manager. She released her first official single along with a video for her brand new ”Burning” song. The production was released by Upsetta Records on the Ouji Riddim, which features other well known entertainers in the industry such as Busy Signal, Chuck Fenda, Luciano, Lutan Fyah, Mykal Rose among others. She got great influence and inspiration for her journey into the industry from listening to Chronixx, who is also from Spanish Town, Damian Marley, Jesse Royal, while Protoje remains her biggest motivation.
