In 1964 Jamaican singer/songwriter Millie Small recorded a hit song that set the music world on fire ‘My Boy Lollipop‘ it made the # 2 spot on the UK singles chart and still is one of the biggest selling ska songs of all time, she’s credited with universalizing ska . In 2011 she was honored with the Order Of Distinction by the Jamaican Government in acknowledgement of helping in the development of the Jamaica Music Industry. Tributes have been pouring in via social media since her passing . She’s been described as a special person with a great sense of humor.
