R.I.P Delroy Washington

Delroy Washington a Jamaican Artiste from the parish of Westmoreland, died March 27 in a London hospital. Washington migrated along with his family to the United Kingdom in the early 1960’s. He was an advocate for roots and reggae culture in Europe in the 70’s and devoted his time mentoring troubled youth in his hometown.

He released a single ‘Give All the Praise to Jah’ it became a success on the British reggae charts, two albums followed ‘I Sus‘ in 76 and ‘Rasta‘ in 77 on the Virgin Label. Washington also provided backing vocals on Aswads first Album. He became friends with Bob Marley, who spent a lot of time in the UK In those days. Our condolence goes out to his family and fans.
