Ras Kronik, rightfully known as Everton Edwards grew up in Clarendon, Jamaica. Kronik is amused by the fact that his song “Lockdown” was recorded before the actual lockdown period due to the novel coronavirus but ends up being highlighted during this period. Lockdwon was first released in April but Kronik recently dropped a music video which showcases a situation that men often face. He knows that when persons hear the word “lockdown”, they would assume it has something to do with the coronavirus. However, it is not so.
As a result of being quarantined due to the virus, it has put Ras Kronik’s career on a pause this year. However, earlier this year, he released “You Got Me” after “Lockdown”. You Got Me is a club jammer collaboration done with Angela Kronillis, an American singer. Lockdown was produced by Ricky Stephens who is a keyboardist for the Bonafide band. Bonafide band is another Jamaican reggae act based in Las Vegas where Ras Kronik has migrated to in 2007.
