Vybz Kartel, also known as “The World Boss”, is notably known and recognized as, one of the best dancehall artists in Jamaica and the rest of the world. Over the years, Kartel has cropped several awards, The Caribbean Urban Music Awards in 2008 and three EME awards in 2009, to name a few. Vybz Kartel is still upholding the crown as the best DJ.
On International night one, Reggae Sumfest will feature some of the greatest local and international acts such as R Kelly, Beres Hammond, Tanya Stephens, Christopher Martin, Paul Elliot, Half Pint and more.
Over the course of a 30 year career, Beres has poured his smoky-sweet voice, an instrument of subtlety and power, reminiscent of an Otis Redding or a Teddy Prendergast over every kind of riddim track. Beres sophisticated musical taste is well suited to translate easily across cultural divides, yet the international reggae massive has remained his most loyal fan base.
International night two, came with a bang this year as this night will feature some of the greatest acts locally and internationally. The line up for international night two includes – Denyque, Jah Cure, Wayne Wonder, Laza Morgan, Gyptian, Protoje, Ashley Martin and more.
Young, Beautiful and Talented with an effervescent personality, Denyque Dontre lives by the quote “Nulli Secunda” (Latin for “Second to None”), firmly believing that aiming for the top and never settling for less is the only way to achieve ones dreams. At 20 years old, this singer/songwriter has reached a level of musical maturity that is far beyond her years; and with a distinctive and innate talent that promises to be one of Jamaica’s finest, Denyque is determined to take her place in music history.
