Rototom Sunsplash is Europe’s largest reggae festival and takes place every summer at Benicassim just a few miles north of Valencia in Spain. Rototom Sunsplash Festival will be celebrating the 25th jubilee and as a part of their celebration, they invited entertainers from around the world to join in this major event, while workshops are offered to reflect on the Reggae industry as well.
Dominant Reggae historian British disc jockey David Rodigan, Jamaican star producer duo Sly & Robbie, Italian reggae artiste Alborosie and American roots singer Ben Harper are all pleased to be a part of the event.
Grammy award winning blues singer and guitarist Ben Harper who has done collaborations with Reggae entertainers such as Toots And The Maytals will be performing on August 16, 2018. Jamaican legendary drum and bass team Sly and Robbie’s contemporary Taxie Connection, along with British singer Bitty McLean, Yellowman and Johnny Osbourne will takeover the 17th of August 2018. Among the acts scheduled for August 18, 2018 includes the Skatalites, Derrick Morgan and Trumpeter Vin Gordon.
Radigan now 67 years old for his 40th commemoration in the music industry. The tour was used to advocate his autobiography titled Rodigon: “My Life In Reggae”, that was released August 19, 2017 of last year. He will be accompanied by 25 piece Outlook Orchestra in a expressive look at his career alongside the history of the Jamaican music.
Alborosie, one of the most toured Reggae artiste in the world will be ready to take centre stage on August 20,2018. Also slated to work on this years staging of Rototom Reggae Festival are Jimmy Cliff, Tarrus Riley, The Mighty Diamonds and Veteran Cocoa Tea.
