This announcement was made at Beaches Negril, just a day after the hotel group confirmed a long term sponsorship deal with West Indies Cricket. Michael Ricketts, president of the Jamaican Football Federation (JFF) was accompanied by the Spanish ambassador to Jamaica,  Josep Maria Bosch Bessa, as well as Andres Muntaner, Projects and Clinics and Campus manager at the Real Madrid Foundation and Adam Stewart Sandals Resorts International Deputy Chairman and Foundation president.

The groups have come together with the shared vision of boosting the support for grass roots soccer, by improving the education Jamaican youth receive about the sport of soccer. This will be accomplished by infusing high-performance training along with crucial educational values.

The twenty year old Real Madrid foundation is going about this mandate giving kids a brighter future by helping the ones most in need to develop as good citizens.

Ricketts, the JFF boss, disclosed that he was “delighted” by the effort of the foundation, while Stewart envisions that the programme will grow from strength to strength each year to maybe one day exceed five hundred participant children.
