Ralston Richards or otherwise known to others as “Sycure”, is a musician hailing from the farming village of Plowden in Manchester. It was while still attending New Forest Primary and Junior High School where he fell in love with music where he recorded his first demo at age sixteen. But two years ago was when he officially released his debut single titled “Farwell” which features reggae artist Turbulence.
Outlining some of his musical heroes in the music industry, Sycure named Turbulence, Barrington Levy, Terry Linen and the major musical influence, also from the parish of Manchester, namely Garnet Silk.
It was while attending New Forest Primary and Junior High School in neighboring St Elizabeth that Sycure began to aspire to a music career. It would be a decade later before he recorded Farewell, which was done with Turbulence.
Dancehall artist Sycure is taking it slow and easy when approaching the industry of fame and fortune, unlike many aspiring dancehall artist who is eager to get a bus in the music industry. The twenty seven year old musician is currently promoting is following tracks Hold On, co-produced by Sashain Records and Big Laugh Music also Your Love, produced by Unity Yawd Family.
“To be honest, the best way to make music is positive. I don’t want to make music unless it really makes sense,” Sycure explain in an interview.
Sycure said his music brings a “spiritual energy” that portrays strongly his Rastafarian faith. By the end of the year, he is also looking to release an EP produced by Unity Yawd Family.
