This new series taking place in Portmore means that “Crack-Up” has made a full circle back to its place of origin. Portmore is the genesis for live, local, stand-up comedy where the “Crack-Up” brand began. The first “Crack-Up” was staged in December 1999 at the now defunct Cactus night club as a birthday bash for one Alton Hugh Hardware, also called ‘Fancy Cat’. This was followed by the “Backyaad Crack-Up” series in March 2004. This latter series, initiated by Chris “Johnny” Daley and produced in collaboration with Ellis International Ltd, provided regular laughter, every month, for over three years and showcased all the top, local comedians and several overseas guest comics.
Ten years later, “Crack-Up” is back in the municipality of Portmore under the production of Ellis International Ltd, in collaboration with Klub Klymaxx, and with the blessings and support of the Portmore Chamber of Commerce & Industry. This grand return means that residents can now look forward to miles of smiles and floods of laughter on the last Sunday of each month, with the promise of top-class entertainment; innovative variety; and exciting opportunities for audience participation.
Another feature of the new “…Crack-Up” series will be a special ‘ticket delivery service’ organised by the producers in association with Portmore’s largest cab service, Nice ‘n’ Easy Tours & Taxi. With the new system, persons buying two, or more, pre-sold tickets can avoid a trip to ticket outlets by calling
