THREE ARTISTES TOP IRAWMA WALKING AWAY WITH THREE AWARDS EACH.

With virtual staging of IRAWMA on Sunday May 16, three artiste walked away with three awards each. Koffee topped the females and walked away with Best Female Vocalist, Peter Tosh Award and Gregory Isaacs Award for best song of the year. Popcaan and Buju Banton lead the males. Buju Banton walking away with Emperor of Reggae & World Music,Toots Hibbert Award for best album and Hon. Bob Marley Award for Entertainer of the year. Popcaan went home with the U-Roy Award for Best Male Deejay, Best R&B/Hip Hop collaboration Reggae song for “Twist” featuring Drake and also Best Crossover Song. Shenseea, Beenie Man , Bounty Killer, Morgan Heritage, Chronixx and Taurus Riley were the other winners of the night.

Other winners of the night included international stars from across the globe who continue to contribute to reggae . Some included;Vachi Kepwe Di Poet of Zimbabwe going home with Mutabaruka Award for Best Poet and Master KG featuring Nomcebo Zikode for song “Jerusalema” went home with Best Afrobeat Entertainer among others.

The night saw veteran artistes being awarded for their works and contribution to music. Josef Bogdanovich of Downsound Records was awarded for his Philanthropy. Ziggy Marley was inducted into IRAWMA Hall of Fame and received a Lifetime Award for over four decades of contribution to reggae. Papa Michigan was awarded with Special Martins International/ Irawma Award of Honour.
